Snapchat Unified Attribution: A New Opportunity for App Advertisers

For app advertisers, good performance starts with good signals. The better an ad platform understands which users install, sign up, purchase, or stay active, the better it can optimize toward the results that matter. Sounds simple. In reality, there has always been a catch.

Advertisers often rely on Mobile Measurement Partners (MMPs) such as AppsFlyer or Adjust as their main source of truth, while advertising platforms use their own attribution signals to optimize campaigns. When those two views don’t fully match, marketers can end up making budget decisions based on one set of data while the platform is optimizing based on another.

Snapchat’s new Unified Attribution feature is designed to bring those two sides much closer together.

And, judging by the first results, this isn’t just a measurement update. It could become a meaningful performance tool for app advertisers.

Snapchat officially rolled out Unified Attribution globally on August 31, 2026. It is currently available for app advertisers using AppsFlyer or Adjust, with support for additional MMP partners underway.

So, What Exactly Is Unified Attribution?

In simple terms, Unified Attribution combines Snapchat’s first-party signals with MMP performance data.

Instead of having Snapchat optimize campaigns based only on its own view of conversions while the advertiser evaluates performance through an MMP, both sides can work with more closely aligned signals.

That means advertisers can use real-time signals, including MMP conversions, to guide Snapchat campaign optimization, while still relying on the measurement framework they already use across their marketing mix. The idea behind it is straightforward:

The signals you use to measure performance can now play a bigger role in how Snapchat optimizes that performance.

For app advertisers, that’s a pretty significant shift.

Why Does It Matter for Performance?

Anyone running app campaigns knows that a cheap install doesn’t necessarily mean a good user. What happens next matters much more. Did the user complete onboarding? Did they make a purchase? Did they stay active? And, ultimately, did the campaign generate enough value to justify scaling the budget? That’s where better signal alignment can make a real difference.

With Unified Attribution, Snapchat can optimize using signals that are closer to the KPIs advertisers already track through their MMP. In turn, this can help campaigns move beyond simply generating more installs and focus on acquisition that delivers stronger business outcomes.

And the first tests are already showing some impressive numbers.

Maestro Pizza: 52% Lower CPI and 7x More Purchases

One of the early Unified Attribution tests came from Maestro Pizza, which tested the solution in MENA for app acquisition.

By combining MMP signals with Snapchat’s first-party data, the campaign delivered:

  • 52% lower cost per app install
  • 2x the volume of installs
  • 7x the volume of purchases
  • 86% lower cost per purchase

The results were measured in Snapchat Ads Manager between February 6 and March 8, 2026.

What’s especially interesting here is the jump in purchases. The campaign didn’t simply generate cheaper installs; it drove significantly more activity further down the funnel. And for performance-oriented marketers, that’s where things start to get interesting.

Deblock: Better Efficiency Without Losing Scale

Deblock tested Unified Attribution in France, combining Adjust signals with Snapchat first-party data. Again, the improvement wasn’t limited to one metric.

The test delivered:

  • 25% lower eCPI
  • 28% lower cost per completed onboarding
  • 43% more app installs
  • 31% more users reached

The results were based on Adjust internal data from March 5–24, 2026. Snapchat also reported that users acquired through the test remained active longer, pointing to stronger user quality rather than simply higher acquisition volume. That’s an important detail.

Getting more installs is good. Getting more installs while improving efficiency and bringing in users who stay active longer is a much stronger performance story.

And the Pattern Continues

Maestro Pizza and Deblock aren’t isolated examples.

Codeway, for instance, tested Unified Attribution across multiple markets and operating systems. According to client backend and Adjust data, the campaigns achieved 18% lower CPI and 1.8x larger scale while maintaining Cost Per Purchase performance.

Yammak saw an even bigger shift. Compared with its usual acquisition campaigns, Unified Attribution generated 65% more AppsFlyer-attributed installs while reducing AppsFlyer-reported CPI by 40%.

Other advertisers are seeing improvements deeper in the funnel as well. VOGACLOSET reported 58% more app installs, 19% more purchases, and over 12% more revenue, while Muzz saw 41% more installs and 47% more sign-ups, alongside a 29% lower CPI and 26% lower cost per sign-up.

So, while every campaign, market, and product is different, there’s already a clear pattern emerging: better-aligned signals can translate into better acquisition efficiency, stronger scale, and better lower-funnel results.

From Measurement Tool to Performance Tool

Perhaps the most interesting thing about Unified Attribution is that it’s easy to look at it as a reporting feature. But that’s only part of the story.

MMP data has traditionally helped advertisers understand what happened after campaigns ran. Unified Attribution brings that information closer to the optimization process itself. In other words, the data doesn’t just help explain performance; it can help shape it.

Snapchat describes the feature as a way for advertisers to optimize using real-time signals, including MMP conversions, scale investment toward channels driving real business outcomes, and understand campaign impact within Snap Ads Manager.

For advertisers already using AppsFlyer or Adjust as their primary measurement source, that creates a much more connected loop:

Measure → learn → optimize → scale.

And importantly, the platform and advertiser are working from a more closely aligned understanding of what “good performance” means.

Why Now Is a Good Time to Test Snapchat for Your App

For brands that haven’t seriously tested Snapchat for app acquisition yet, Unified Attribution creates a strong reason to revisit the platform.

Snapchat has effectively added a new performance layer specifically designed to bring its optimization closer to the measurement systems app advertisers already trust. And early results suggest the impact can go well beyond reporting: lower CPI, more installs, lower onboarding costs, more purchases, better ROAS, and more efficient scaling.

For example, Mohegan Sun Online Casino compared Unified Attribution with its usual campaign setup using AppsFlyer data. By Week 4, the Unified Attribution campaign was delivering 89.8% higher ROAS, 77% lower CPI, 48% more installs, and 77% more purchases. The results were strong enough for the advertiser to adopt Unified Attribution as an ongoing optimization approach on Snapchat.

Of course, these results aren’t guaranteed benchmarks for every advertiser. But they do make one thing clear: there’s now a very good reason for app marketers to put Snapchat on their testing roadmap.
